Against The Current are back with ‘Heavenly’, a bold, emotionally charged new single that signals the beginning of their next chapter.
Watch the ‘Heavenly’ visualiser
Arriving off the back of a sold-out run across the US, UK and Europe, the track sees the trio leaning into a sharper, more liberated sound — one that embraces release as much as it does tension.
A fall from grace that feels like freedom
At its core, ‘Heavenly’ explores the strange relief that comes with letting go of expectation. It’s about stepping down from the pedestal others place you on and finding something more real in the aftermath.
Frontwoman Chrissy Costanza explains it as a moment of clarity:
“Heavenly is the realisation that the fall from grace is liberation. After balancing on a knife’s edge atop a pedestal others put you on, the moment of letting everyone down becomes the first gasp of fresh air after a lifetime of holding your breath.”
It’s a theme that fits neatly into the band’s current trajectory — less concerned with perception, more focused on honesty and control.

15 years in, a new chapter begins
Formed in 2011 by Chrissy Costanza, Dan Gow and Will Ferri when they were still teenagers, Against The Current have grown into one of modern rock’s most recognisable crossover acts.
Now approaching their 15th anniversary in 2026, the band are setting the stage for what looks like their most ambitious era yet. Following their 2021 EP Fever, they stepped into independence — a move that reshaped their sound and direction.
Recent singles like ‘silent stranger’, ‘blindfolded’ and ‘good guy’ have already hinted at that evolution, collectively pulling in tens of millions of streams and reaffirming their global reach.
From internet beginnings to global stages
Over the past decade, Against The Current have built a fiercely dedicated fanbase, moving from online covers to sold-out headline tours and major festival slots.
One of their defining moments came through their collaboration with Riot Games on Legends Never Die, the League of Legends anthem that has since surpassed a billion streams — a milestone that underscores their crossover appeal between music and gaming culture.
Setting up a huge 2026
With new music now rolling out and plans for a global tour on the horizon, ‘Heavenly’ feels like a statement of intent. It’s not just a return — it’s a reset.
After 15 years of growth, Against The Current sound like a band stepping fully into their own space, shedding expectation and embracing whatever comes next.
