Disco Meets Distortion in Royal Republic’s Fiery New Single

“Expect a Stayin’ Alive that’s less disco-ball twirl and more gasoline-soaked inferno.”

Royal Republic Unleash Rock Inferno with ‘Stayin’ Alive’ Cover

Swedish rock heavyweights Royal Republic are back to set speakers alight with their explosive new cover of the Bee Gees’ legendary disco anthem ‘Stayin’ Alive’ — the third chapter in their ongoing Blastbeaters saga.

Following the adrenaline-drenched reimaginings of ‘Venus’ (Shocking Blue) and ‘I’m So Excited’ (The Pointer Sisters), the band takes their mission of high-octane reinvention to new extremes. Gone is the falsetto and funk — in its place: grinding guitars, blistering energy, and the unmistakable roar of Royal Republic.

Their version of Stayin’ Alive isn’t just a cover — it’s a demolition and resurrection. The disco shimmer is incinerated in favour of swaggering riffs, relentless rhythms, and a performance that’s more sweat-drenched dive bar than Studio 54. It’s disco rewritten in the language of distortion and attitude.

Alongside the track comes another chapter in the strange and savage world of The Blastbeaters — the band’s corpse-painted, Volvo-hauling Black Metal alter-egos. Think chaos, think leather, think comedy turned up to 11. The video keeps the saga weird, wild, and weirdly wonderful.
