Gideon Hit Back Hard with Crushing New Single Wrong One
Tuscaloosa heavyweights Gideon have unleashed their latest single, “Wrong One,” a no-holds-barred statement of intent that lands like a steel-toed kick to the teeth. Released via their new label home at Sumerian Records, the track continues the band’s uncompromising trajectory — and it’s not pulling any punches.

With feral breakdowns, throat-ripping vocals, and relentless aggression, Wrong One is classic Gideon with a sharpened edge. It follows ‘Til The Wheels Fall Off, released earlier this summer, and firmly plants a flag for this next era of the Alabama quartet.
“Never Mistake Kindness for Weakness”
Built on betrayal, boundaries, and bottled-up rage, Wrong One is all about drawing the line — and then bulldozing anyone who dares cross it.
“We wrote this song at a time when we were simply fed up with always giving folks the benefit of the doubt,” the band shares.
“Never mistake kindness for weakness.”
Sonically, it’s a straight-up beatdown. But underneath the ferocity is a clear message: Gideon aren’t here to be taken lightly.
More Than a Warning Shot
Wrong One comes complete with a new official music video, further cementing the band’s visual and sonic vision. It’s raw, visceral, and drenched in the same seething attitude that’s made Gideon one of the most consistent forces in modern hardcore.

The band — Daniel McWhorter (vocals), Tyler Riley (guitars), Caleb DeRusha (bass), and Jake Smelley (drums) — have refined their formula into something downright punishing.
With more material expected soon, Gideon are clearly laying the groundwork for something massive.
