I Promised The World Share New Single A Pure Expression and Announce US Headline Tour
Texas-based post-hardcore outfit I Promised The World have released A Pure Expression, the second single from their upcoming self-titled EP, due out January 16, 2026, via Rise Records. Arriving with a powerful new video, the track dives deeper into the band’s emotionally charged sound—a potent blend of screamo, Midwest emo, and soaring post-hardcore.

Following the atmospheric drama of debut single Bliss In 7 Languages, this latest cut builds slowly before erupting in a storm of distortion, layered vocals, and cathartic release. Produced by Jon Markson (Drug Church, DRAIN, Stay Inside) and Adam Cichocki, the track captures a delicate balance between space and impact—calm and chaos.
“A Pure Expression expands on the band’s ability to balance restraint and intensity,” reads a statement. “It’s a swelling mix of emotional interplay and crushing dynamics.”
Music as Grief, Defiance, and Celebration
Formed in 2023, I Promised The World is the emotional outlet of Caleb Molina, whose father’s death due to COVID in 2020 serves as the band’s spiritual origin point. Though the full lineup—Hunter Wilson (vocals), Mason Zschau (drums), Mason Nowlin (guitar), and Aidan Vickers (bass)—came together later, Molina’s grief runs through the core of their music.

This EP is not just a reckoning with loss—it’s a tribute. A cathartic force of memory and defiance. Molina doesn’t just grieve; he builds something loud, beautiful, and enduring from it.
Since forming, the band has already hit the road with Deafheaven, Midrit, and Koyo, building a reputation for emotionally intense live sets and a sound that carves its own path through the modern post-hardcore landscape.
