Last Hounds Drop New Single with Jason Aalon and Announce STRNGEWRLD EP
Last Hounds are swinging hard. The Midlands-born crossover punks have unleashed Just Play, a blistering new single featuring none other than Jason Aalon (Fever 333, ex-letlive.), alongside the announcement of their upcoming EP STRNGEWRLD, due out 16th January 2026.

A sonic sledgehammer built for chaos, Just Play marks a serious step up in both fury and finesse for the five-piece. The track’s release follows their recent run with letlive. in Europe—a tour that planted the seeds for this transatlantic collaboration.

A Link Born on the Road
Jason Aalon discovered Last Hounds online, drawn in by their nu-punk swagger and no-nonsense energy. Impressed enough to bring them on tour, the connection quickly evolved from fan-to-band to genuine friendship.
“We’ve always said how much we’d love to have Jason on a track,” bassist Ben Taylor shares. “Once we spent some time on the road together, it all just clicked. In the end it felt very natural.”
It wasn’t just business for Jason either.
“I don’t know what I’m more excited about,” Jason says, “the fact that this song gives me that feeling of authentic punk meets melodic excitement or that I get to experience it with some of the most genuine people I’ve met in this game. Probably both.”

Lyrical Fire and Phone Booth Fury
The Just Play music video brings the track’s raw message to life. Delivered via a heated, cross-Atlantic phone call, Jason and frontman Mikey Skelcher trade bars with ferocious intensity, filmed in a symbolic phone booth setting that tightens the tension.
“It’s about that moment when you’re done swallowing other people’s bullshit,” says Skelcher. “The leaders, loudmouths, anyone who talks big but never feels the consequences. Eventually you stop pretending and just spit back ENOUGH!”
Just Play is out now on all streaming platforms. The STRNGEWRLD EP lands 16th January 2026.
