PRESIDENT continue to build their shadowy, genre-blurring world with the release of ‘MERCY’, a dynamic new single arriving alongside an official lyric video.
Watch ‘MERCY’
Landing at the tail end of their major US tour supporting Bad Omens, the track doubles down on the band’s signature contrast — weaving melodic hooks through crushing riffs, electronic textures and punishing breakdowns.
Heavy, cinematic and unafraid to confront
‘MERCY’ thrives on tension. It’s a track that moves between atmosphere and impact with precision, showcasing a band increasingly confident in their hybrid sound.
Lyrically, it takes on weightier themes, with PRESIDENT reflecting on the role of religion in shaping division and human conflict:
“Throughout history, religion has been tied to profound division and loss. This song is a reflection on that reality, and a way for me to come to terms with what it means on a human level.”
It’s a continuation of the band’s intent-driven approach — prioritising meaning over image, and substance over spectacle.

A project built on mystery
Since emerging in 2025, PRESIDENT have deliberately resisted traditional band structures. Operating under anonymity and minimalism, the UK-based collective have instead focused on creating an immersive world around their music.
That ethos carries through every release. Previous single ‘ANGEL WINGS’ introduced their blend of modern metal, electronic elements and pop sensibility — a combination that has quickly drawn attention from across the alternative press.
Their debut EP King of Terrors, released in autumn 2025, laid the groundwork. Now, ‘MERCY’ suggests that the project is only becoming more expansive and refined.
