Terrorvision Returns With New Album ‘We Are Not Robots’

“It is an ode to the hard rocking in a world of twee. A tribute to all bands that play and write. That drive through the night to forge their way rather than entering a TV talent show.” – Tony Wright

Terrorvision Returns With New Album ‘We Are Not Robots’ – Drops September 20th

Terrorvision is back! The British rock legends are set to release their new album, We Are Not Robots, on September 20th via their own label, Total Vegas Recordings. This is their first album since 2011’s Super Delux and it promises to be a marvellously raucous and eclectic statement of intent, verifying the band’s existence and refreshing their legendary, incendiary live shows.

A Riot of Sound and Emotion

We Are Not Robots kicks off with a punk tirade in the opening tracks ‘Electrocuted’ and ‘The Night that Lemmy Died’, moves through the foot-stomping pop-rock of ‘Daydream’, and ends with the melodic bliss of ‘Opposites Attract’. This album delivers a Bradford-certified punch on the nose, a kiss on the cheek, and the party to end them all.

Lead singer Tony Wright uses the explosive single ‘The Night That Lemmy Died’ to celebrate the old-school mentality of bands like Terrorvision.

“It is an ode to the hard rocking in a world of twee.” Tony explains: “A tribute to all bands that play and write. That drive through the night to forge their way rather than entering a TV talent show. The world needs people like Lemmy and so we wrote this to remember what he meant to all us rockers. It’s almost a hymn!”

A Storied Legacy

Formed in Bradford in 1988, Terrorvision signed with EMI Records in 1991 and released their debut album Formaldehyde to positive reviews. They quickly went from performing in pubs to touring with The Ramones and Motorhead, and opening for Def Leppard at their hometown stadium show. Their second album, How To Make Friends and Influence People, spawned five top-30 singles and several Kerrang! Awards.

Their third album, Regular Urban Survivors, released in 1996, featured hits like ‘Perseverance’ and went Gold. In 1999, the single ‘Tequila’ from their fourth album Shaving Peaches reached number 2 in the UK charts. After a hiatus following 2001’s Good to Go, Terrorvision reunited periodically, and in 2010, they began working on new material which resulted in the 2011 album Super Delux.

In 2023, they collaborated with Embrace guitarist Rick McNamara to produce We Are Not Robots. Mixed by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, McFly), the record is a 37-minute riot of shiny pop hooks and hard rock, set for release in September 2024.
