Rifle’s Self-Titled Debut Is a Blistering Statement of Intent

British punk band Rifle have dropped their long-awaited self-titled debut via YEAR0001, a snarling and unflinching record that barrels through 11 tracks of working-class fury and pub-born power. With endorsements from the likes of Dan P Carter and glowing reviews from Kerrang!, Far Out Magazine, and Spectral Nights, it’s a release that’s already making noise far beyond London.

“This album was our first time recording everyone’s parts separately,” the band shared, “but the collaboration and ideas were constant. Jonah, who produced the record with us, kept the energy and support rolling. It was a proper group effort.”

Rifle’s sound is rooted in Oi! and UK hardcore, but there’s a feral edge that drags everything from anarcho punk to beer-soaked rock’n’roll into the chaos. Standouts like “No King,” “Protest,” and “United State” deliver political bite with bone-rattling riffs. Elsewhere, “Cut Me Loose” and “Gauntlet of Hate” show off their no-frills aggression and sonic force.

The band — Max (vocals), Ross (bass), Flynn (drums), and guitarists Albert and Louis — formed out of late-night Camden jams and dead-end jobs. What started as after-hours noise turned into one of the UK’s fiercest new punk outfits, quickly earning slots alongside The Chisel, The Chats, and European festival appearances at Reading and Leeds, Venezia Hardcore Fest, and more.

Their live energy is never in doubt, and fans won’t have to wait long to experience it firsthand. The band will play Rough Trade East on a newly rescheduled 5th February 2026, followed by a full-throttle night at Moth Club on 28th March, joined by Luxury Apartments and Eel Men.
