Dark Divine Share Suffocating New Single Ahead of Undead Melody

“While we may feel past the point of no return, as long as we still bleed, we are still of the living.”

Dark Divine are pushing deeper into their shadowy world with the release of new single ‘Half Past Dead (Unbury Me)’, arriving alongside an official music video and marking the next chapter in the build-up to their forthcoming album Undead Melody.

The track leans into a heavier, more suffocating atmosphere than before, pairing crushing instrumentation with a sense of emotional paralysis. It’s a song built on tension — the feeling of standing still while everything else moves forward — and the slow realisation that something has to give.

A darker turn toward reflection

At its core, ‘Half Past Dead (Unbury Me)’ wrestles with time, stagnation and self-awareness. Small decisions accumulate, the weight builds, and eventually the illusion of control gives way to a moment of reckoning.

Vocalist Anthony Martinez frames it as a confrontation with that internal standstill:

“‘Half Past Dead’ is a song about the concept of fleeting time. There are times we put ourselves in the very places that keep us from truly living. We sit and rot away while life passes us by… as long as we still bleed, we are still of the living.”

It’s a sentiment that aligns with the band’s growing identity — emotionally heavy but threaded with a sense of urgency and survival.

New album Undead Melody lands in May

The single is taken from Undead Melody, due 29 May via Thriller Records, a record that promises to expand Dark Divine’s blend of melody and menace. Early signs point toward sharper hooks, a broader sonic palette and a deeper dive into the themes that have defined the band so far.

Emerging from Orlando’s metalcore scene, the four-piece — led by Martinez alongside Robby Lynch, Cory Scissorhands and Triston Blaize — have steadily built momentum through releases like ‘Halloweentown’ and its follow-up, alongside a growing reputation for immersive live shows.
