Against The Current Return With Explosive New Single “Dead Man Walking”

Against The Current have shared their new single “Dead Man Walking,” the second offering from their upcoming album, as the alt-rock trio mark their 15th anniversary with a major new chapter.

Led by Chrissy Costanza’s ferocious vocal performance, “Dead Man Walking” pushes the band into heavier, more emotionally charged territory. It is a song built around survival, change and the strange aftermath of making it through something only to find that the person who came out the other side no longer feels like you.

A Darker, More Reflective Side of Against The Current

Speaking about the track, the band describe “Dead Man Walking” as a song about the cost of survival and the distance between who you were and who you become after being pushed to the edge.

That sense of dislocation runs through the single. Against The Current have always thrived on big hooks and high-voltage momentum, but here the emotional weight hits harder. “Dead Man Walking” feels like a band using their most immediate instincts to dig into something more bruised, personal and cinematic.

A Milestone Year for the Band

Formed in 2011 by vocalist Chrissy Costanza, guitarist Dan Gow and drummer Will Ferri, Against The Current have grown from a teenage project into one of modern alt-rock’s most recognisable forces.

Their 2021 EP Fever helped ignite a new phase, while 2024 singles “silent stranger,” “blindfolded” and “good guy” pushed them further into a bold independent era. Earlier this year, they returned with “Heavenly,” the first single from the forthcoming album, before following it with the explosive “Dead Man Walking.”

The band have also built a huge global audience through touring and their gaming-world crossover, most notably with Riot Games collaboration “Legends Never Die,” which has surpassed one billion streams worldwide.

Against The Current will also hit the road this autumn for a 17-date Til Death & Back Tour across the UK and Europe. The run includes five UK shows, finishing with a major night at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire before the band head into mainland Europe.
