My Chemical Romance mark 20 years of The Black Parade with expanded reissue and Hoboken live cut
My Chemical Romance will release The Black Parade (20th Anniversary) on 23 October via Reprise Records, gathering the original album with B-sides, previously unavailable live recordings and newly commissioned artwork from James Jean.
The expanded collection arrives two decades after the band’s landmark rock opera first reshaped the scale and theatrical ambition of mainstream alternative music. Alongside the original 14-track record, the anniversary edition adds six bonus cuts, including a long-circulating fan favourite, Someone Out There Loves You (Live), which is being officially released for the first time.
The band have also shared The Sharpest Lives (Live from Hoboken), taken from a 24 October 2007 hometown show at the now-closed 200-capacity Maxwell’s venue. Previously available only on the DVD component of 2008 live release The Black Parade Is Dead!, the performance is now streaming in audio form for the first time.

New James Jean artwork accompanies the collection
In a statement, My Chemical Romance said: “Twenty years ago, we wrote what would become The Black Parade, our third record and the follow up to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. At the time, we could never have imagined what the record would mean for the band. All we knew is that we had made something crazy, and something we couldn’t wait to get it out into the world.”
They added: “For the first time, we have included everything we finished during those sessions in a single collection.”
Artist James Jean, whose work was central to the original visual world of The Black Parade, has contributed three new pieces for the anniversary release. The band said: “James is truly a one-of-a-kind artist, and so important to how this record was presented to the world.”
The reissue will be available in several physical editions, including an autographed store-exclusive cassette, CD and Bloodline Red 2LP vinyl. Other versions include Baby Pink vinyl, an HMV-exclusive Black & Tan Galaxy edition in the UK, a Concrete Grey LP and a limited One Step 180g black vinyl pressing.
