SNAYX set debut album Greed for February release as Gold Star takes aim at manosphere excess
SNAYX have announced their debut album, Greed, due for release on 19 February 2027 through Nettwerk Music Group. The Brighton trio have also shared a new single, Gold Star, and confirmed headline tours of the UK and Europe for next spring.
Co-written with Jordan Fish, Gold Star is a sharp-edged broadside against conspicuous wealth, self-styled hustle merchants and the sort of bar-room bravado that mistakes spending power for personality.
Speaking about the single, the band said: “It’s about that guy we’ve all seen flashing their cash at the bar and preaching about work ethic. He’s that ‘manosphere’ misogynist screaming about lifestyle and the grind, buying his friends and followers because they’re so inherently unlikable. Well done, you drive a nice car and got a round in, but that doesn’t make you any less insufferable.”
A record built around appetite and excess
Across 13 tracks, Greed examines the urge for more in its various forms: money, influence, attention, pleasure, possessions and love. Earlier singles Lost Cause, Nice Day 4 It, Strut and Brain Cellz all feature on the album, alongside nine previously unreleased cuts.
The record was shaped with Tigercub’s Jamie Hall and NOISY’s Spencer Tobias-Williams, as the band pushed their punk foundations into more electronic and industrial territory. The release cites touchpoints including Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx, while retaining the jagged riffs and forceful delivery at the centre of SNAYX’s live set.
“We’ve all just found such joy in those artists, and we wanted to share that but also put our unique SNAYX spin on it,” says Charlie. Lainey adds: “We figured it was better to experiment and see what we could get away with than try and play it safe.”
