Palaye Royale Pack Wembley Swagger into Camden Barfly

“Tonight, though, belongs to the 200 fans who got through the Barfly doors. Arena-sized songs, a tiny stage and a singer who spends half his time in their faces.”

Palaye Royale @ Camden Barfly, London 7th October 2026

It’s been a busy week for the brothers Royale. A new album announced for January, a world tour confirmed with another headline date at Wembley Arena, and an impromptu acoustic gig outside King’s Cross station to the delight of hundreds of fans. Tonight, though, they go one better, squeezing their full live show into Camden’s iconic Barfly, the venue they played on their first visit to the UK.

With only around 200 tickets up for grabs, snapped up in moments, this was always going to be a hot one. An arena band returning to a grassroots room gives the lucky few something special, and the place is already at fever pitch before the first note.

There’s a neat connection between this return to their early London stomping ground and the music bringing them back. Sixth album Amsterdamage, due on 22nd January 2027 through Sumerian Records, finds the brothers reconnecting with one another and the influences that first fired them up. Lead single Lost in Translation draws on the mid-2000s British rock they grew up loving. What better place to give it a proper workout than a packed Camden club?

Remington Leith arrives already shirtless, his tattooed frame drawing plenty of attention down the front. Sebastian Danzig, meanwhile, looks every inch the rock star in a sharp white suit. Emerson Barrett takes his place at the keyboards tonight, rather than in his usual position behind the drum kit. With a touring drummer and guitarist completing the five-piece line-up, there’s barely an inch of spare stage.

It’s the music that makes this band, though, and they kick straight into Lost in Translation. Released only last week, it already has the crowd singing every word. Remington has described wanting to write something upbeat that would go crazy live, and tonight he gets his answer immediately. One song in and the room is warmed up. From here, it barely stops bouncing.

Hang On to Yourself follows, with Remington screaming into the faces of fans pressed against the stage. There’s no photo pit or buffer here; the band and audience are right on top of one another. Every move brings them closer, and the lack of space soon becomes part of the fun.

The set rolls through No Love in LA, Little Bastards and Showbiz, mixing familiar favourites with the new material. Remington eases the congestion onstage by spending plenty of time among the fans, phones raised to catch those fleeting moments when their singer is suddenly within touching distance. Try getting this close at Wembley.

By Dying in a Hot Tub, the crowd seems to swell. There are only 200 people in here, but the chorus sounds like thousands. It’s one of those moments when the size of the room becomes almost impossible to square with the noise coming out of it.

At one point, Remington makes his way through the audience and climbs onto the bar opposite the stage, extending the show to the other end of the room before heading back into the throng. There’s precious little distance between performer and punter tonight, and he makes full use of it.

Feel Something gets fists pumping, while Fucking with My Head also makes the cut. We’re treated to the live debut of The Unholy One, too, a belter earmarked as a bonus track on the limited-edition version of Amsterdamage. It’s classic Palaye and sounds destined to become another crowd favourite.

Behind the new record lies a much more personal story. Following the death of their mother, Stephanie Rachel, from cancer in 2024, the brothers took different paths through grief. Making Amsterdamage helped bring them back together. As Emerson put it in the album announcement, “I think if we didn’t have this album, we would have all kind of gone separate ways.”

Written throughout 2025 around their touring schedule, the album took shape between the San Diego coastline and the Netherlands before being completed at Chris Greatti’s Los Angeles studio. Knowing that background gives this next chapter extra weight. The brothers have plenty to look forward to, and tonight the fans get to share in the excitement at exceptionally close quarters.

The main set finishes with two classics: the sublime You’ll Be Fine and Mr. Doctor Man, the first-album favourite that still takes the roof off live. In a room this small, that last one feels like a serious threat to the building.

After a brief exit, the band return for a three-song encore. A beautiful Lonely gives way to a bouncy For You, before they finish exactly where they started, with another run through Lost in Translation. Just in case anyone wasn’t singing their heart out the first time, the whole place is certainly singing now. The new single has well and truly made itself at home.

Getting this close to Palaye Royale is something the people packed into this hot, sticky room won’t forget in a hurry. The band return to London’s OVO Arena Wembley on 3rd April 2027 as part of the Amsterdamage world tour, with Manchester and Glasgow dates also on the calendar. Tonight, though, belongs to the 200 fans who got through the Barfly doors. Arena-sized songs, a tiny stage and a singer who spends half his time in their faces. What a night.
