Bearings Announce New Album Comfort Company and Drop Pop-Punk Ripper Freaking Me Out

“Some songs we wrote at a cottage, others came from a basement… we just wanted to make music that felt natural to us.” – Doug Cousins

Bearings Drop New Single Freaking Me Out, Announce New Album Comfort Company

Ottawa pop-punk outfit Bearings are back and diving deep with their latest single “Freaking Me Out”, taken from their upcoming album Comfort Company, due out 7th November 2025 via Pure Noise Records. Alongside the track comes a vibrant new music video, channeling the song’s chaotic emotional undercurrent with colorful intensity.

“It finds itself somewhere between a pool party and a manic episode where you question the meaning of life,” says frontman Doug Cousins about the track, which began life on an acoustic guitar before being fully fleshed out into a pop-punk anthem.

New Album Comfort Company Out 7th November

Comfort Company marks Bearings’ fourth full-length and perhaps their most personal. Written in between tours and long drives, the album explores themes of aging, identity, and self-reflection — all under the umbrella of punchy hooks and emotionally charged melodies. The band recorded the album with Kyle Marchant at Room 21 in Toronto, revisiting the same studio that birthed their debut EP and Blue in the Dark.

“This album was working on music all day, walking to the beer store, then heading back to the windowless studio… it feels like coming back home,” adds Cousins.

From existential wrestling on “Feel Less” to collaborative highs on “Float Away” (featuring Derek DiScanio of State Champs), Comfort Company brings a mature but still heart-forward Bearings to the forefront.
