Bomb To A Knife Fight Drops as Barbarians of California Ramp Up 2026

“It’s a funny time in our lives to go back and make the most aggressive music we’ve ever created.” – Eric Stenman

The Barbarians of California Unleash Bombastic New Single Bomb To A Knife Fight

West Coast hardcore gets a jolt of adrenaline as The Barbarians of California return with their fiercest cut yet

The Barbarians of California have stormed into 2026 with their most explosive release to date. The track, Bomb To A Knife Fight, is a snarling blend of old-school punk fury and hard-hitting production, matched by a confrontational video that cuts just as deep. The single arrives hot on the heels of a breakout year that saw the band hit the road with Deftones and IDLES, drop a string of blistering tracks, and continue carving their name into the fabric of modern hardcore.

THE BARBARIANS OF CALIFORNIA

Formed by longtime collaborators Aaron Bruno (AWOLNATION) and producer Eric Stenman (Tinfed), The Barbarians are more than a side project — they’re a raw expression of the pair’s roots and reverence for the scene that shaped them. Channeling the energy of early ’90s California hardcore with a modern, genre-blurring twist, TBOC are not here to play nice — they’re here to incite.

“’Bomb To A Knife Fight’ was the first song we completed after finishing our first-ever tour with Deftones and IDLES,” the band shares. “You’d have to imagine that the perspective of playing live every night played a part in the creation of this song. Also, our love of old-school hip-hop may shine through a little on this one.”

The single follows the late-2025 drop of PSEUDO INTELLECTUALS ARE HATING ON MY BAND!!! (pure power), featuring Keith Buckley, and the equally vicious MODERN FASHION. Both songs, along with their 2024 debut LP And Now I’m Just Gnashing My Teeth, have solidified the Barbarians’ status as one of hardcore’s most unpredictable new voices.

TBOC aren’t “political” in the typical sense — they aren’t playing anyone’s game. Their message is defiance, aimed equally in all directions. This is hardcore in its purest form: unapologetic, pissed off, and smart enough to know the difference between chaos and purpose.

Upcoming Live Dates

This year, The Barbarians of California are bringing the chaos to stages across the country:

  • January – ShipRocked 2026
  • Spring – Supporting Poison the Well & Converge (Full dates TBA)
  • Summer – Opening for Guns N’ Roses (Two dates TBA)

With one boot in hardcore tradition and the other kicking straight into the future, The Barbarians of California are shaping up to be one of 2026’s loudest forces.
