SATCHVAI Band Unveils Star-Studded Line-Up and Tour Dates
Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, two of the most iconic guitarists of all time, have officially revealed the full line-up of their new band, SATCHVAI. Drummer Kenny Aronoff, bassist Marco Mendoza, and guitarist Pete Thorn are joining them on this historic endeavour, forming a powerhouse quintet.
This dream team is set to hit the road for the Surfing with the Hydra Tour 2025, beginning on 13 June in York, UK, and traversing Europe before wrapping up in late July. Fans can expect a blend of their solo masterpieces alongside music from their upcoming collaborative album.
The Dream Team
When assembling the band, Satriani and Vai sought world-class musicians who could bring unparalleled chemistry to their live performances.
- Kenny Aronoff: Celebrated drummer known for his explosive energy and precision, Aronoff has worked with Satriani since 2012 and has toured alongside both Satriani and Vai.
- Marco Mendoza: A six-string bass virtuoso with commanding stage presence, Mendoza’s résumé includes Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, and The Dead Daisies.
- Pete Thorn: An all-around guitar wizard, Thorn has performed with legends like Chris Cornell and Don Henley and brings a rare blend of rhythm and lead mastery to the line-up.
Satriani and Vai on the Line-Up
Joe Satriani shared, “It’s no secret that chemistry between players makes for a magical live band, and we’ve found that chemistry with Kenny, Marco, and Pete.” Vai echoed the sentiment, stating, “This line-up is the perfect fit for us. Their skills, tone, and attitude are exactly what we envisioned.”
The band is set to showcase material from their first collaborative effort, The Sea of Emotion, Pt. 1, and new songs slated for release just before the tour begins.
