LEAP Sign to Epitaph Records and Share Sinking Feeling Video
London alt-rock risers LEAP have inked a deal with Epitaph Records, marking a pivotal moment in a story already defined by resilience and reinvention. The signing arrives as the band continue to ride the momentum of their self-released debut album Entropy, which has clocked over 21 million global streams since its release last October.
Hailed by Rolling Stone as “vigorous, adventurous… a cracking show with powerful tracks,” LEAP have built their ascent the hard way. From charting independently across Europe to selling out rooms on their recent headline run, the band’s trajectory feels less like industry hype and more like something earned in the trenches.
Now, with Epitaph in their corner, they’re stepping into a bigger arena.
A Celebration of the Darkness
Alongside the label news, LEAP have unveiled the official video for “Sinking Feeling,” the lead single from Entropy. It’s a track that encapsulates the band’s knack for pairing buoyant, high-energy instrumentation with stark emotional candour.
“We’re all kinda broken in our own ways, and there’s nothing wrong with that,” the band explain. “It’s a celebration and a temporary pause on that sinking feeling that we all get sometimes, that unexplained sense of dread.”
The result is a defiant anthem that pulses with urgency while staring directly into the void — a balancing act LEAP have made their signature.
Frontman Jack “Jacky” Scott is candid about what the Epitaph partnership means. “Epitaph is such an iconic label, and everyone we tell starts taking us seriously once we drop the name,” he says. “We said we were gonna stay fully indie for as long as possible. We spoke to so many labels over the years, but as soon as Epitaph came in it was clear the proposition was on a different level.”
Having already charted their debut independently, the band now look to build on that foundation with fresh firepower behind them.
From Collapse to Catharsis
LEAP’s story is inseparable from Scott’s own turbulent journey. After early major label experiences with previous projects, the highs gave way to devastating lows. Living with bipolar disorder, Scott endured a prolonged manic episode that resulted in sectioning and months in psychiatric care. Upon release, he discovered his project had been dropped. Not long after, he lost his father to suicide.
It was his father’s words — “Don’t flinch. Whatever it is, face it head on. LEAP.” — that became both mantra and band name.
Rebuilding from scratch alongside Hector “Heccy” Cottam (drums), Declan “Deccy” Brown (bass), and Adam “The Pixie” Mason (guitar), LEAP channelled personal and collective trauma into Entropy. The album landed Top 20 in Germany and Top 10 in Austria — proof that the band’s raw honesty resonates far beyond London.
“I actually love replying to the deep messages from fans,” Scott says. “It gets heavy sometimes, but the thought of helping someone through their trauma just by sharing mine… I’d much rather that than it all be for nothing.”
At its core, LEAP’s music may be dark, but it pulses with raucous hope.
