Brighton’s Mutations Festival 2025 Is Back With Its Biggest Edition Yet

Dry Cleaning and Lambrini Girls to Headline Two-Day Celebration of the Bold and Boundary-Pushing

Brighton’s beloved Mutations Festival is officially back for its seventh edition, taking over the city on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th November 2025. Known for its fearless programming and uncompromising taste, the 2025 edition looks set to be its most explosive yet, featuring over 90 acts across nine iconic grassroots venues.

Mutations Festival 2025

This year’s line-up is a genre-defying showcase of what’s next and what’s now, ranging from cult icons to red-hot rising stars. Friday night sees the return of South London post-punk trailblazers Dry Cleaning, who take the top slot after a year spent recording their third album with Cate Le Bon. On Saturday, hometown heroes Lambrini Girls promise chaos and catharsis in equal measure as they close the festival with their feral, politically charged punk energy.

Nine Venues, Ninety Acts, Two Days of Sonic Discovery

Performances are set across a sprawl of Brighton’s most cherished independent venues, including CHALK, Patterns, Green Door Store, and The Hope & Ruin. Each will play host to an electrifying cross-section of punk, psych, noise, indie, electronica, and the beautifully unclassifiable.

Highlights from the 2025 bill include:

  • Big Special, the Midlands duo whose bruising, poetic post-punk has taken them from cult status to critical acclaim with their debut National Average
  • Hypnotic alt-country outfit Divorce, fusing ABBA-style melody with Wilco’s grit
  • Bdrmm, whose shoegazing odyssey Microtonic has earned rave reviews
  • Wild psych-noise veterans Pigs x7, the ever-unpredictable Stealing Sheep, and garage rock chaos courtesy of The Bug Club
  • Hotly tipped newcomers like Mary In The Junkyard, Keo, and American punk outfit Upchuck

And that’s barely scratching the surface—expect everything from Japanese psych (TEKE::TEKE) to no-wave (DITZ) to ambient folk and industrial noise.

A Proven Breeding Ground for Breakthroughs

Over the past seven years, Mutations Festival has built a reputation as one of the UK’s sharpest tastemakers. Acts like Yard Act, The Last Dinner Party, Fat Dog, and English Teacher graced Brighton stages long before their Mercury buzz and main stage billing.

Whether you’re looking to discover your next favourite artist or see a genre-defining band in an intimate space, this is a festival that delivers.
