‘Piranha’ Bites Hard as Nova Twins Tease Explosive New Album

“This track explores growing tensions around the world, which can feel overwhelming at times, leaving you unsure of where to start.”

Nova Twins Unleash the Fury on New Track Piranha

Alt-rock rebels Nova Twins return swinging with “Piranha”, the blistering new single from their upcoming third studio album Parasites & Butterflies, set for release on August 29th via Marshall Records. Ferocious and unrelenting, “Piranha” finds the duo diving into deeper, more volatile waters, balancing aggression and vulnerability with a snarling bite.

Their recent singles “Monsters” and “Soprano” lit the fuse. Now “Piranha” detonates. Propelled by jagged riffs, guttural bass, and Amy Love’s searing vocal delivery, the track channels both the personal and political, with a sonic fury that refuses to be silenced.

“This track explores growing tensions around the world, which can feel overwhelming at times, leaving you unsure of where to start.”, the band shares. “It delves into themes of confrontation, rebellion, and fear. Using imagery of predatory waters, it symbolises vulnerability, power, and questioning authority. “Piranha” also reflects society’s cutthroat nature, but emphasises coming together and supporting each other. There is strength in unity.”

The track arrives with a Blair Witch-inspired music video—a disorienting and eerie visual counterpart that amplifies the sense of menace and unrest.

Parasites & Butterflies: A Genre-Defying Statement

Recorded in Vermont with revered producer Rich Costey (Muse, Deftones, Foo Fighters), Parasites & Butterflies promises to be Nova Twins’ most expansive and eclectic release yet. Fusing dancefloor-ready bangers with moments of stark introspection, the album challenges genre boundaries and societal norms alike.
