SABATON Forge a Thunderous Legacy with Legends and 2025–2026 Global Tour
Swedish power metal titans Sabaton return in full force with the release of their much-anticipated 11th studio album, Legends—out now via Better Noise Music. A concept album crafted around 11 legendary historical figures, Legends marks a pivotal moment for the band, both musically and thematically. It also sets the stage for a sprawling world tour, including a 31-date North American run and three UK arena dates in December 2025.
The new single “I, Emperor” spotlights none other than Napoleon Bonaparte, and arrives alongside a clever, board game-inspired music video that rewrites history as we know it.

A Tracklist Written in Blood and Glory
On Legends, Sabaton channel the spirits of warriors, strategists, and rulers—from Joan of Arc and Genghis Khan to Julius Caesar and Miyamoto Musashi. With each track dedicated to a figure from the annals of history, the album dives deep into tales of conquest, resistance, and ambition.

“I, Emperor” Video: A Game of History, Rewritten
Frontman Joakim Brodén calls Napoleon’s journey “straight up legendary,” explaining how this fan-requested figure was practically destined for a Sabaton anthem. The video for “I, Emperor” cleverly portrays the Battle of Waterloo as a board game, with Brodén representing Napoleon and outmanoeuvring his bandmates—ultimately creating an alternate reality where France claims victory.
Complete with war-game props, period references, and a nod to the band’s own Sabaton History Channel, the video fuses geek culture and historical warfare in true Sabaton style.
Every Member, Every Voice
Legends also marks the first time every member of Sabaton contributed to the songwriting process. The result? A sonic battlefield that feels more dynamic, unified, and creatively liberated than ever before.
In addition to “I, Emperor,” five tracks have already dropped:
- “Templars” – 19.1M+ streams
- “Hordes of Khan” – 6.3M+ streams
- “Lightning at the Gates” – 2.6M+ streams
- “The Duelist” – 3M+ streams
- “Crossing the Rubicon” (feat. Nothing More) – now climbing the Mediabase Active Rock chart
Collectors can also dive into 11 unique vinyl editions, each themed around a historical figure. For fans of Napoleon, the “Napoleon Edition” ties directly to “I, Emperor,” featuring exclusive artwork and vinyl colour.
