CREEPER Launches a Chilling New Chapter with ‘SANGUIVORE: SPECIAL EDITION’
After critical acclaim for their album ‘Sanguivore’, gothic rock band CREEPER reinvigorates their dark musical saga with ‘SANGUIVORE: SPECIAL EDITION’. This expanded version introduces four new tracks, each adding layers of eerie elegance to their vampire-themed rock opera.
The focus track, ‘Love And Pain’, is a haunting desert noir ballad echoing with tones of despair and melancholy. The song features Von Ghould’s vocals, reminiscent of a haunting hybrid of Chris Isaak and Glenn Danzig, delving into a deeper exploration of dark romance and existential dread.
Expanding the Darkness with New Tracks
‘SANGUIVORE: SPECIAL EDITION’ surprises with a blend of old and new influences. ‘Shadows of the Night’ sees keyboardist/vocalist Hannah Hermione leading a powerful cover of Pat Benatar’s 1982 hit, while infusing it with CREEPER’s signature theatricality. Meanwhile, ‘Phantom Fantasia’ offers a creepily enchanting murder ballad, showcasing Hermione’s vocal prowess.
The final addition is the ‘Queen of the Night Extended Mix’ of ‘Cry To Heaven’ by producer Tom Dalgety. This version enhances the original with heavier riffs, an atmospheric breakdown, and what may be the most grandiose guitar solo Ian Miles has ever performed.
Art and Accolades
Adding to the allure, the album features new black-and-white artwork by Gut Slaughter, while the original art by Welder Wings brought CREEPER nominations for Best Album Art and Best Album at this year’s Heavy Music Awards.
