Scottish Punk Duo Bratakus Drop Urgent Anthem Tonight

Scottish punk duo Bratakus drop new single Tonight ahead of their album Hagridden, out February 13th via Venn Records, tackling media manipulation and generational frustration.

Bratakus Release New Single Tonight Ahead of Gritty New Album Hagridden

Haunting Baby-Masked Visuals and a Defiant Punk Message Take Aim at Media Distraction

DIY Highland punk duo Bratakus have released Tonight, the incendiary new single from their upcoming album Hagridden, out February 13th via Venn Records.

BRATAKUS – Tokened

Formed by sisters Brèagha and Onnagh Cuinn in the small whisky town of Tomintoul, Bratakus have been pushing raw punk urgency with a political bite since 2015. Tonight continues that streak, delivering a cathartic rallying cry against media manipulation — backed by distorted fury, relentless energy, and a sinister music video featuring the band in unsettling baby masks.

Media Noise and Modern Rage

“It’s about how everyone is angry about the state of the world, but we are being thrown distractions to get us to hate the wrong people,” explains Brèagha, who handles guitar and vocals. It’s a pointed message that channels the album’s larger theme: navigating modern nightmares with clarity and compassion.

The video for Tonight visually captures this feeling of disorientation. Donning the eerie baby masks seen on the Hagridden cover, the Cuinn sisters perform mundane daily routines, symbolizing a generation trapped in arrested development.

“Technically we’re adults, but we still feel like kids,” says bassist and co-vocalist Onnagh, citing the Blindboy podcast as an inspiration. “The cost of living is so high, a lot of millennials can’t move out or reach traditional milestones. It’s something I think about a lot.”

Album Drops February 13th

Hagridden follows a run of blistering 2025 singles — Final Girls, Tokened, and Turnstile — that saw the band sharpen their attack for their new label home, Venn Records. The ten-track record promises a shot of beautifully brutal, politically engaged punk that hits like a scream in the dark.
