Surfbort Return with “Lucky” and Announce New Album Reality Star

Surfbort are officially back in action, and they’re coming in hot. The Brooklyn-born garage punks have announced their long-awaited third album Reality Star, due out March 6th via Todo Records, perfectly timed for International Women’s Day. Leading the charge is the chaotic, affirming new single “Lucky,” accompanied by a brilliantly offbeat video directed by longtime collaborator Pooneh Ghana.

Emerging like a punch of punk-pop sunshine through the existential gloom, “Lucky” is both an anthem and a pep talk. Frontwoman Dani Miller delivers her signature blend of brash vocal grit and surprising melodic turns, all wrapped in a lo-fi punk-pop package that feels as much like a cathartic scream as it does a dance in your bedroom mirror.

“I wrote Lucky when I was deep in a funk,” Miller explains. “It’s my anthem to blast away the darkness… to be your own hype-person through the lows, celebrating the highs, and loving the messy, beautiful humans around you.”

Reality Star: Chaos, Dreams, and Pure Punk Energy

Reality Star is Surfbort’s first full-length since 2021’s Keep On Truckin’ and marks their debut with Todo Records. The record finds the band refining their blend of raw energy and surreal optimism, pushing the boundaries of their own sound while staying rooted in the spirit of punk rebellion. It’s vulnerable and raucous all at once, shifting seamlessly between snarling punk tirades and dreamy, bittersweet pop.

Surfbort – Reality Star

The band continues to evolve without ever compromising their foundation — a communal, loving chaos that’s earned them a devoted following known as the “Surfbort Freak Family.” Whether tearing up stages at Coachella or gracing Gucci campaigns, Surfbort have maintained their weird, wild authenticity.

Punk with Star Power

With a CV that includes tours with Idles, Wolf Alice, and Viagra Boys, plus past affiliations with Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records and Linda Perry, Surfbort have cemented themselves as a band with reach and relevance. Reality Star is the next chapter in their unpredictable story — and “Lucky” is its rallying cry.
