“We wanted something raw… more direct,” says frontman Franz Treichler, setting the tone for a record that’s both politically charged and deeply personal.
Sound and Fury
Appear Disappear is The Young Gods stripped back and wound up—an album that bleeds urgency, rooted in the band’s earliest instincts: biting guitars, pounding drums, and electrified sampling. The opening title track howls with defiant energy, setting the stage for a collection that reckons with war, surveillance, and love.

From the industrial grind of Systemized to the psychedelic echoes of Intertidal and the rebellious stomp of Shine that Drone, the album throws punches across genre lines. Blackwater honors digital resistance, inspired by a Chinese activist who tracked police during the Hong Kong protests, while Mes yeux de tous confronts the disorientation of data overload.
Yet amid the chaos, there’s tenderness. Blue Me Away, a raw tribute to Treichler’s late wife Heleen, is a thunderous love song wrapped in distortion and vulnerability.
