The Damn Truth capture a road-tested Be Somebody live at Montreal’s Hotel2Tango
The Damn Truth have released Be Somebody (Live at Hotel2Tango), a newly recorded live take on the opening track from their self-titled 2025 album. The recording arrives ahead of The Damn Truth (Deluxe Edition), due for worldwide release on 11 September 2026.

Recorded at Montreal’s Hotel2Tango, the new version reflects the shape the song has taken after more than a year on the road across Canada, the UK, Europe and the United States. Rather than revisiting the studio arrangement, the band returned to the track with collaborators Charlie Agadjanian, Jordan Forlini and Zach Manni-Mirolla to document its more immediate live character.
The original Be Somebody was produced by Bob Rock and has become a regular focal point in the band’s set. Its live reworking will appear as a bonus track on the forthcoming deluxe edition, while the accompanying performance video was also filmed at Hotel2Tango.
The band said: “Be Somebody was written about the duality that comes with that teenage lust of wanting to fit in yet remain true to your individuality.
“We’ve carried this song with us from stage to stage over the past year, letting it grow and transform a little more every night. There’s something beautiful about how a song keeps revealing itself when it’s shared with people night after night.
“Teaming up with Charlie Agadjanian, Jordan Forlini and Zach Manni-Mirolla at the legendary Hotel2Tango to re-record Be Somebody felt incredibly special. Breathing new life into this song and celebrating how music continues to evolve long after it’s written.”
