Beast In Black channel Alien nightmares on new single Fear The Beast
Beast In Black have released Fear The Beast, a new single and cinematic video that serves as the title track to the Finnish metal outfit’s forthcoming fourth album.
The track arrives as the band prepare for dates in Japan, Taiwan and China later this month, followed by their European Resurrection Tour. That run includes a London show at O2 Forum Kentish Town on 26 October, with Sonata Arctica and Frozen Crown joining the bill.

Fear The Beast finds the group leaning into their familiar collision of dancefloor pulse, sharpened heavy-metal riffing and towering melodies. It also marks the first release to feature new lead guitarist Markus Venehsalo.
A xenomorph brought to life in song
Written and produced by Anton Kabanen, the song draws directly on Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror landmark Alien, and on the unsettling biomechanical artwork of H.R. Giger. Kabanen said recurring dreams of being hunted by a xenomorph helped fuel the song’s imagery.
“The song is about Ridley Scott’s 1979 film called Alien. But the main reason to write about it was my fascination with the biomechanical nightmare art of Hans Ruedi Giger,” Kabanen said.
“Ever since I was a teenager I’ve seen recurring nightmares about a xenomorph hunting me in dystopian themed environments, yet never quite catching me. Beside the creature’s downright perverted and extreme appearance I find it sensual, elegant, intense, fierce, horrifying, exotic and mysterious, almost as if it’s a beauty and a beast merged into one.”
The accompanying clip was directed by Katri Ilona Koppanen, with work from Emil Pohjalainen at Nestruction Studios. Its industrial visual world nods towards James Cameron’s Aliens, while introducing the band’s newly designed XENOBEAST character, created by artist Roman Ismailov, who also supplied the single artwork.
“We tried to blend some of the feel from both films into our music video, with Cameron’s influence weighing more on the visual side of industrial elements,” Kabanen added. “We’re absolutely thrilled about this beautiful cinematic video which wouldn’t have been possible without Katri Ilona Koppanen and Emil Pohjalainen.”
Resurrection Tour reaches London in October
Following their Asian dates and an appearance at Mallorca’s Full Metal Holiday, Beast In Black will head out on the Resurrection Tour with Sonata Arctica and Frozen Crown. The two Finnish dates marked with an asterisk will take place without the tour’s support acts, while the Helsinki finale features The 69 Eyes and Rabbit Cult.
