Tom Morello releases new album with Kneecap collaboration Unconquered
Tom Morello has released his new solo rock album Everyone Gets Everything They Want, with the record’s latest focus track Unconquered pairing the guitarist with Kneecap.
Released via Mom + Pop Music, the 12-track album brings together the politically charged riff work and serrated solos associated with Morello’s solo output, alongside a cast of collaborators including Serj Tankian, Beartooth and Morello’s son, Roman Morello.
Unconquered arrives with a video built around live footage of Morello and the Belfast trio, matching the track’s heavy guitar attack with the kinetic force of their respective performances. Watch the video for Unconquered here.
A meeting of heavy riffs and defiance
Morello said he approached Kneecap with a clear idea of the song’s purpose.
“I’m a big fan of Kneecap and they have fearlessly stood up for their beliefs in this time where it can cost you a lot,” he said. “I reached out to them and they were interested. They asked what I was thinking and I said the song has got to be called Unconquered and it’s got to have the spirit of the best of what we’ve done in our careers. It’s an absolute jam.”
The album addresses fascism, racism, immigrant rights and wider political unrest, with Morello framing its full-throttle sound around an uncompromising set of lyrical concerns.
“I wanted to make a record that reflected all sides of my career, felt like it was really of the moment, absolutely unforgiving and unwavering in its rock power, big riffs, crazy solos and the political content that I feel in my heart,” he said. “I make anti fascist songs for anti fascists, anti Nazi songs for anti Nazis and anti racist songs for anti racists. If any of that offends you do the math.”

Roman Morello co-wrote five songs on the album, while Tankian features on Adjourn It and Beartooth appear on Everything Burns. The latter previously made its in-game debut in Final Fantasy XIV.
