Breed 77 invite fans into new Don’t Give Me Up video as VII release nears

Breed 77 are asking fans to appear in the video for forthcoming single Don’t Give Me Up, the latest track to be taken from their first album in 13 years, VII.

The flamenco metal outfit want submissions reflecting the song’s themes of alienation, bullying and resilience. Fans are being asked to film a landscape video lasting around 10 seconds, first staring seriously or fiercely into the camera before breaking into a smile.

Clips should be filmed in HD or 4K and sent to of*************@***il.com with the subject line “Different”. Submissions must include the statement: “I, <your name here>, give Breed 77 permission to use my image/likeness in the music video for Don’t Give Me Up.”

The deadline for entries is the end of Friday 16 October.

A new chapter takes shape

VII arrives on Friday 13 November, bringing 11 new songs from the band. Recent singles End Of The Line, Outside, Just Act Like You Know and Wish You Well all feature on the record, while Don’t Give Me Up is set to follow in the coming weeks.

Speaking about Wish You Well, vocalist Paul Isola said: “It’s alright if we don’t see eye to eye on some issues, throughout life people change and their views change – I guess the message of the song is a somewhat sarcastic ‘Even though I think you’re wrong, I wish you well…’ You know? Don’t lose friends over differences.”

He added: “Wish You Well is a bit of a trip for its relatively short three minutes and change run time; we take you on quite a journey – it floats, it kicks, it’s grungy, there’s a bit of flamenco in there – we’re not pulling any punches, it’s full-on Breed!”

Isola described the album as a record shaped over a lengthy and complicated recording process. “The recording of this album has taken place over a year and a half and three countries,” he said. “It wasn’t the most ideal situation but I think we thrive through adversity, you take negatives and turn them into positives, use the time, hone the songs, develop them and explore where they take you.”
