Among Legends push into burnout and melody on new single Floating Here For Years
Among Legends have released Floating Here For Years, the second single from their upcoming full-length Lose My Grip, which arrives on 10 July 2026.
Built on driving guitars, tight rhythm changes and a vocal that sounds equal parts worn down and determined, the track trades some of the sharper edges of lead single H/A/C/K for something more reflective. Its lyrics circle burnout, stagnation and the uneasy feeling of trying to find solid ground again.

Produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Matt Gauthier at ARC Recording Studio and This Place Needs A Name, the song finds the Ontario punk trio leaning harder into melody without softening the tension underneath.
Restless, reflective and still moving
The new single circles the feeling of treading water, with the line “All I hear’s the pounding of my heart inside my head / I’ve been floating here for years” landing somewhere between confession and warning. It gives the track a blunt emotional core, even as the guitars open up around it.
That mood carries into Lose My Grip, which was shaped after a difficult stretch for the band. Pandemic delays pushed back the release of their debut full-length, Take Good Care, while lineup changes and constant touring forced them to rebuild around a shifting sense of momentum. Rather than sanding that down, the new record leans into the friction.

There are road-worn details threaded through the album’s framing too: long overnight drives on the 401, gear loaded into small clubs after midnight and the fluorescent glow of a Tim Hortons stop before the next stretch of highway.
The band have also made a pre-order page available for Lose My Grip, which you can find here.
