Bridge City Sinners bring their dark folk-punk carnival back to North America
Bridge City Sinners have announced a run of North American dates following their recent UK and Ireland Repent Repeat tour, taking in West Coast Halloween shows, three Texas appearances alongside Streetlight Manifesto and a New Year’s Eve hometown date in Portland.
The Portland outfit begin their Trick or Treat run with two nights at Tacoma’s Airport Tavern on 23 and 24 October, before heading through Oregon and California for a string of shows that concludes on Halloween in Ventura. The dates arrive alongside a new live video for Spears and Blades, filmed in one continuous shot from the stage during a Cologne performance.
The footage captures the group’s frantic live blend of banjo, fiddle, upright bass, guitar and ukulele, with their ragged folk melodies and punk-charged rhythms pushed right to the front of the room. Watch the video here.
Halloween shows and Texas dates with Streetlight Manifesto
After the West Coast dates, Bridge City Sinners will join Streetlight Manifesto for three November shows in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. The band then close out the year with the four-date New Year’s Evil Tour, joined by Riley Downing of The Deslondes and Roselit Bone.
Speaking about the upcoming run, guitarist, co-writer and vocalist King Strang said: “We get to celebrate our favourite holiday for two full weeks this year and we’re going all out. A lot of people really loved Streetlight Manifesto in high school and I still can’t believe we get to play some shows with them.”
The New Year’s Evil dates open in Boise on 30 December before a New Year’s Eve show at Portland’s Roseland Theater, followed by stops in Bellingham and Vancouver.
