coldrain Announce New EP OPTIMIZE and Drop Live Video from Summer Breeze

Japanese heavyweights coldrain return with fresh fire this autumn, announcing their upcoming EP OPTIMIZE, set for release on October 24th 2025 via Century Media Records. Alongside the EP reveal, the band have unleashed a live video for their latest single ‘CHASING SHADOWS’, filmed during their midnight set at Germany’s Summer Breeze Open Air Festival this August.

The five-track EP, which follows on from recent singles ‘INCOMPLETE’ and ‘CHASING SHADOWS’, will land just ahead of their European headline tour. The OPTIMIZE journey begins with their “ONE MAN JAPAN TOUR 2025” in late September, covering six major cities across their home country. They then return to Europe in November, kicking things off in Manchester before hitting 15 more cities across the continent.

Vocalist Masato gave fans a preview of what’s to come, sharing:

“We’re beyond excited to finally announce our new five track EP ‘OPTIMIZE’ is coming out this Oct! Also since we had such an incredible time in Germany last month we wanted share with you a part of that memory. Go watch us play our brand new single ‘CHASING SHADOWS’ at Summer Breeze! It was a very special moment playing at midnight with the moon in the sky. The live video offers fans a glimpse into that “very special moment” on the Summer Breeze stage, where coldrain’s explosive performance met the festival’s atmospheric midnight sky. It’s a raw, electric teaser of what fans can expect when the OPTIMIZE tour lands in Europe.
