Electric Callboy turn a sugary boy band ballad into a deathcore nightmare on The Way You Are
Electric Callboy have released The Way You Are, a new single that begins in the glossy, slow-dance world of late-90s boy band pop before detonating into a barrage of deathcore riffs and screamed vocals.
The track is the latest preview of the band’s forthcoming album TANZNEID, due on 7 August via Century Media Records. Its accompanying video follows the same deliberately warped route, opening as a nostalgic pop-romance fantasy before veering into a blood-soaked horror scene.
A love song with a violent left turn
Rather than simply nodding to the pop aesthetics of the era, The Way You Are commits to the contrast: polished melodies and sentimental vocal hooks are interrupted by the sort of crushing passages usually reserved for the heaviest corners of Electric Callboy’s catalogue.
The band said: “The Way You Are started with a pretty simple idea: what if the sweetest late-’90s boy band love ballad suddenly turned into one of the heaviest songs we’ve ever written? We loved playing with that contrast, both musically and visually. The result is probably one of the most unexpected songs we’ve ever released, and definitely one of our favourites on TANZNEID.”
TANZNEID arrives in August
The Way You Are joins previously released album cuts including Hypercharged, Let The Good Times Roll, Revery, Still Waiting, Elevator Operator and RATATATA. The record will be launched with an album release party at Berlin’s Huxley’s Neue Welt, followed by an appearance at Escalation Fest 2026, where Electric Callboy will perform the new album live for the first time.

UK and Ireland arena dates confirmed for January
Electric Callboy will bring the TANZNEID World Tour to the UK and Ireland in January 2027, with arena shows scheduled for Dublin, Manchester, Nottingham, Bournemouth and Cardiff. Tickets and further tour information are available here.
