Today London based HEALTHY JUNKIES release their much anticipated new single and video for ‘Streets Of Olympia’. Inspired by the street punk kids of Olympia, who they met while on tour.

When we arrived in Olympia to play our show, there was a crowd of teenage/twenty-something punks hanging outside the venue. They actually lived on the street, well, specifically in a huge outside car park full of tents. They gave us the warmest welcome and moshed so hard that one guy broke his wrist, and a girl dislocated her collar bone! They were hardcore and so cool! We shared drinks and smoked with them after the gig, and they totally inspire this song.’

The band toured the USA in autumn 2018 and wrote a soundtrack to their journey.

The video idea gravitated towards director and editor Shogo Hino’s idea of creatures of the night, ghouls and zombies, with a twist of night terrors thrown in for good measure. The location was a ghostly, derelict office space in Archway London; it was once, in fact, the jobcentre for the area. It is now called Jumping Sofa studios. We have tried to capture the energy and madness that we were shown by the kids on the streets of Olympia.

This is the 4th video and single to be taken off Healthy Junkies’ lockdown album ironically entitled ‘Forever on the road’.
