Lacuna Coil Release Final Single as Sleepless Empire Drops
A Dark Valentine’s Gift: “I Wish You Were Dead”
Italian gothic metal legends Lacuna Coil have unleashed the final single from their brand-new album Sleepless Empire, out today, February 14. The track, “I Wish You Were Dead,” is a searing exploration of toxic relationships, where haunting melodies collide with heavy riffs to deliver one of the band’s most visceral songs yet.

The song’s accompanying video, directed by Martina L McLean, was filmed in a historic church in Capranica, Italy. For the first time in their career, Lacuna Coil incorporate choreography into their performance, adding a dramatic new dimension to their visual storytelling.
“We all have this person we wish never existed, right? We wanted to write heavier lyrics on a happier musical canvas.”
A Sleepless Empire Awaits
Marking their 10th studio album, Sleepless Empire follows 2022’s Comalies XX and delves deep into themes of digital disillusionment and identity loss in a hyper-connected world. With eleven cinematic and brooding tracks, the album stays true to Lacuna Coil’s signature sound while pushing their storytelling into new, thought-provoking territories.
