No Kings, No Rules: Rifle Detail Self-Titled Debut

“Rifle is the sound of revenge yelled by the damned sons of London’s borderlands.”

Rifle Announce Self-Titled Debut Album on YEAR0001

London’s rising punk agitators Rifle have confirmed the release of their hotly anticipated self-titled debut album, landing 16th January 2026 via YEAR0001. Accompanying the announcement is the snarling lead single No King, a defiant statement of intent now available to stream and watch.

A Rallying Cry from the Margins

Dragging the raw edge of proto-punk through a thicket of anarcho discontent and UK pub rock scuzz, Rifle is the sound of boots on the curb and spit in the gutter. It’s aggressive, unrelenting and uncompromising—music by the bruised, for the furious.

Formed out of frustration and late-night Camden jam sessions, Rifle’s origins are soaked in chaos and camaraderie. Max (vocals) and Ross (bass) started the project while trapped in soul-crushing jobs, eventually recruiting Flynn (drums), and guitarists Albert and Louis. The group forged their name supporting punk heavyweights like The Chisel and The Chats before taking their sound across the European festival circuit at events like Reading and Leeds, Rebellion, and Venezia Hardcore Fest.

The Album: A London State of Mind

On their debut full-length, Rifle set out to channel the working-class experience and the raw vocal energy of football terraces. While comparisons to the Cockney Rejects and Cock Sparrer speak to their ideological lineage, the band’s vision is wholly modern—angry, urgent, and unflinching.

“We also wanted to capture the sound and identity of being a London band… Groups like Cockney Rejects and Cock Sparrer may not have a big overlap in sound, but their lyrical focus and overall ethos definitely define them as London bands. That’s something we were aiming to achieve as well.”

RIFLE – ALBUM ARTWORK

Produced alongside Jonah, Rifle pushes the band’s sound into even louder, darker corners. Tracks like Protest, United State, and Gauntlet of Hate are blunt-force political tools, lashing out at the institutions they see as corrupt and destructive.
