Pulley celebrate 30 years since Esteem Driven Engine with Rise of the Underdog
Pulley will mark three decades since their Epitaph debut Esteem Driven Engine with a new two-song 7-inch, Rise of the Underdog, due out on 13 November via Negative Progression Records.
The release brings together new tracks Best Kept Secret and Fade, with the Southern California skate-punk outfit continuing to work in the fast, melodic register that has long defined their catalogue. A video for Best Kept Secret is also in the works and will premiere through BlankTV.
Two songs on self-worth and uncertainty
On Best Kept Secret, vocalist Scott Radinsky addresses the exhaustion of being overlooked, finding a sense of worth beyond recognition and status.
“It’s about being unappreciated and undervalued. We have no need for lights on the marquee or status. Just be comfortable in your own skin, it’s better to remain the secret.”
Fade, meanwhile, turns its attention towards uncertainty and the nerve required to keep moving when the route ahead is unclear. “Fading into an unknown certainty of what the future holds,” Radinsky says. “Not knowing what to expect or what we’ll find, but still having the courage to move forward.”
Rise of the Underdog follows 2025 singles Torn Apart By Time and Write A Note If You Leave, both of which entered rotation on Green Day’s Idiot Nation channel on SiriusXM during 2026.

The new 7-inch in full
The two-track release arrives as Pulley continue a busy run of live activity, following European dates and US festival appearances in 2026.
