Skunk Anansie Unveil Lost and Found Ahead of New Album
British rock trailblazers Skunk Anansie are back with ‘Lost and Found’, their brand new single out today via FLG Records. Premiered on BBC 6 Music with Steve Lamacq, the song arrives as a cinematic and emotionally charged preview of their upcoming album, The Painful Truth, which drops May 23rd.

A Striking Song with a Surreal Visual Twist
Opening with Skin’s stark, unaccompanied vocal, “Lost and Found” builds into a theatrical arrangement carried by a staccato piano motif—setting the tone for what promises to be one of the band’s most compelling records to date.
The track’s accompanying video, directed by Skin and shot in Munich, is just as evocative. It plays out in reverse, charting the descent of “Lost Skin” after a surreal run-in with a demon (portrayed by drummer Mark Richardson). Split into two personas, Skin embodies both vulnerability and power, echoing the emotional weight of the track.
“We wanted to evoke the loneliness and desperation that can occur in a split second by one tiny mistake,” Skin shares. “Any of us at any time can lose the security built up over a lifetime.”
The Painful Truth: A Defining Statement
The new album, The Painful Truth, is Skunk Anansie’s first release on FLG Records, and it’s being hailed as their most raw and truthful work yet. Produced by David Sitek (TV On The Radio), it features ten tracks that showcase the band’s trademark blend of ferocity and finesse, with singles like “An Artist Is An Artist” and “Cheers” already igniting airwaves and playlists across the UK.
From post-COVID isolation in a Devon farmhouse to reconnection through candid songwriting sessions, The Painful Truth represents the band’s rebirth—a fearless and fresh statement from artists still pushing their limits.
