The Dwarves and Hip Priests Camden Underworld
The Dwarves whirlwind tour of the UK ends tonight at Camden’s Underworld, after dates across Ireland and the UK and a trip to Blackpool for this year’s Rebellion Festival. Let’s get one thing straight to the Dwarves ‘PC’ is the device you watch porn on! They’re here to take the immoral high ground and that’s exactly what tonight’s crowd wants.
From the opening bass line of ‘Way Out’, we are treated to a best of Dwarves set spanning their 30+ year career. Highlights, well the whole set was a blast but ‘Backseat of My Car‘, ‘Let’s Fuck‘, ‘Dominator‘ and ‘Everybodys Girl‘ were a joy to hear live again. Tonight was another memorable show the only thing was the notable absence of HeWhoCannotBeNamed as the band played as a 4-piece tonight.
Support for the evening was provided by those hi-energy speed merchants ‘The Hip Priests’ who burn through a set of hard rock, punk-edge tracks that get the crowd and my attention. Standout tracks the blinding ‘Motherfucker Superior‘ and ‘Zero Fucks Given‘. Do yourselves a favour and check these guys out either live where they shine or grab the ‘Those Fuckin’ Boys (A Decade of Disdain)‘ album and blow your mind!
