Jools Share New Single Limerence Ahead of Debut Album Violent Delights
With their debut album Violent Delights set to land on 6th June via Hassle Records, Leicester/London post-punk collective Jools return today with a volatile new single, Limerence—a twisted take on infatuation and desire that sits somewhere between euphoric obsession and emotional collapse.

“It’s both euphoric and toxic in equal measure”
Built on a backdrop of searing guitars and frenzied rhythms, Limerence is described by the band as “the closest thing you’ll get to a love song from Jools.” It chronicles that fever-dream rush of crushing hard on someone—when they dominate your waking life and haunt your dreams. “You create a fictional version of a person that doesn’t exist anywhere but exactly there, in your head,” they explain. That emotional volatility surges through the track, showcasing the band’s knack for pairing raw vulnerability with biting sonic aggression.

This new release lands just in time for their London headline show tomorrow, followed by a set at The Great Escape on Thursday, giving fans a taste of what’s to come on their upcoming debut.
Violent Delights: A Record of Reckoning and Reclamation
Violent Delights, produced by Lewis Johns at Southampton’s The Ranch, is an autobiographical body of work that refuses to look away from life’s darkest corners. Across its runtime, Jools explore themes of grief (Dunoon), religion (Mother Monica), obsession (Limerence), and survival (97%), each song rooted in lived experience and delivered with palpable conviction.
Far from dwelling in despair, Violent Delights reframes pain as power. “At face value, this record could read like a tragedy,” the band says, “but we want it to feel like a celebration.”

With prior praise from BBC Radio 1’s Daniel P Carter, Alyx Holcombe, and Nels Hylton, as well as features in Kerrang!, DIY, and CLASH, Jools are fast becoming one of the UK’s most compelling live bands and storytellers.
