Split Dogs capture life at full tilt in their Speed Demon tour-diary video
Split Dogs have shared Speed Demon, the latest cut from their forthcoming second album Nice N’ Rough, due out on 25 September via Venn Records.
The track arrives with a video assembled from footage captured during the band’s European travels last year, matching its brisk, ragged rock ’n’ roll charge with backstage scenes, road miles and live clips. Watch the video here, or stream Speed Demon here.
Singer Harry Martinez said: “We documented a lot of our European tour last year, so decided to use that footage to create a tour diary-style music video. The song is our love letter to life on the road — something we, as a band, have always loved doing.
“A lot of the video features footage from Freak Show in Essen. We’ve played there a few times, first on the Here to Destroy Europe tour and most recently during our German tour. It is one of our favourite places in the world — beautiful, full of heart, and somewhere that needs to be seen to be believed. Massive thanks to the owners, Benny and Ela, for their unwavering love of fast rock ’n’ roll, counterculture, and each other.”
A new record from Leeds’ former police station
Nice N’ Rough was recorded at The Station House in Leeds, a studio housed in a repurposed Victorian police station. The 13-track record was produced by Jonah Falco and engineered by James Atkinson, with the band drawing inspiration from the studio’s VHS collection, including Heavy Metal, A Nightmare on Elm Street and a Tina Turner live tape.
