Split Chain revisit motionblur with collaborative deluxe edition ahead of UK headline dates
Split Chain have released motionblur [DELUXE], a new expanded digital edition of their debut album featuring guest turns from artists across the alternative underground.
Out now via Epitaph Records, the 26-track release pairs the original motionblur album with 14 reworked versions, including collaborations with Day Aches, Concealer, Slow Degrade, whither, Commoner, False Reality, Ritual, postdrome, Nodding Off, Roman Candle, Zetra and Grove Street.
The Bristol band have marked the deluxe edition’s arrival with I’m Not Dying To Be Here [DLX], a reworking featuring Slow Degrade.
“motionblur [DELUXE] was not only an idea conceived so we could celebrate our debut album a year on from its release, but also as a way for us to give back to the community and scene that has welcomed us with such open arms,” Split Chain said.
“We’ve made so many friends across the world over the course of our short existence and to be able to celebrate in this way with all of them is such a genuine privilege for us. Everyone has done such a sick job with their interpretations of each song, and we’re so so proud of how it’s all come together.”

Slow Degrade take on I’m Not Dying To Be Here
On the new focus track, the band said they had wanted to work with Slow Degrade from the outset. “Shane’s voice complements the song in all the right ways and he’s done such a good job of levelling the song up even more,” they said. “We’re genuinely stoked with how well it’s come out.”

“There was a point of realisation for us amongst all of the chaos where we realised that we hadn’t actually toured the UK since way before motionblur was released,” the band said. “We decided that we absolutely had to give the album a proper tour at home.”
