Lonely The Brave share So Nearly and announce 2027 UK tour

“We are all absolutely delighted to be releasing So Nearly. This is the first song we wrote after all of us got back in a room together again with Dave.”

Lonely The Brave reunite with Dave Jakes on new single So Nearly and book 2027 UK dates

Lonely The Brave have released So Nearly, their first new music to feature original vocalist Dave Jakes in more than a decade.

The Cambridge five-piece’s new single arrives via Easy Life and was produced by Mark Roberts, whose previous production work includes releases by Black Peaks, Jamie Lenman and Delta Sleep. Driven by the band’s familiar weighty rhythms and broad, melodic guitar lines, the track puts Jakes’ unmistakable voice back at the centre of the group’s sound.

So Nearly received its world premiere on the Radio 1 Rock Show ahead of its release. The band have also shared an accompanying visualiser, which can be viewed via YouTube, while the single is available to stream now.

The first song from the reunited line-up

The single was the first song written after Jakes reunited with Mark Trotter, Ross Smithwick, Andrew Bushen and Mo Edgeley. Jakes’ return follows a lengthy period away from the band, with the original five-piece now preparing for its first headline shows together in ten years.

Lonely The Brave said: “We are all absolutely delighted to be releasing So Nearly. This is the first song we wrote after all of us got back in a room together again with Dave (Jakes), and decided to just see what happens.

“To us, So Nearly just SOUNDS and FEELS like a Lonely The Brave song should, and we couldn’t be happier with it.”

May 2027 headline dates with Other Half

Alongside the release, Lonely The Brave have announced a five-date UK headline tour for May 2027, with Other Half set to support throughout. The run follows two sold-out November 2026 comeback shows: a hometown date at Cambridge Mash on 12 November and a London show at Bush Hall on 17 November.

The band said: “Our first headline tour with our full original lineup in ten years… honestly just writing that phrase feels surreal. Ten years. Proud to be here, honoured to be coming to some of our favourite places and cannot wait to see you all there. Your support is everything, thank you.”
