beabadoobee releases Switchblade as Pylon tracklist and UK arena dates emerge
beabadoobee has unveiled Switchblade, the second single from her forthcoming album Pylon, due on 18 September via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records.
Premiered alongside an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s New Music Daily, the new track finds Bea Laus circling questions of conflict, fear and self-preservation. Built around a sharp central image, Switchblade asks: “Self-defence is to be brave / Do you start the fight / Or take flight?”
The song follows recent single Sun Has Set, which arrived last month with a first-person video directed by Laus’ partner and longtime visual collaborator Jake Erland.
A record built around uncertainty
Pylon follows 2024’s UK number one album This Is How Tomorrow Moves, with Laus describing the new record as a more unsettled collection shaped by contradictory feelings rather than neat resolutions.
“Pylon is about accepting that negative feelings are going to come back – accepting the insecurity and feeling confused,” Laus says. “It’s all a necessary part of growing and knowing yourself better. You have to go through all that shit, I have to write about it.”

The Powerlines Tour reaches UK arenas
Laus will take the new material on the road this autumn and winter with The Powerlines Tour, her first headline arena run. The itinerary begins in North America on 1 October before reaching the UK in November, including a London date at The O2. Wisp will support across the US, Canada and UK dates, while Violet Grohl joins the European leg.
