Beabadoobee shares Pylon and new single Write Me A Letter ahead of UK arena run

Beabadoobee has released her fourth album, Pylon, via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records. The 14-track record arrives alongside focus single Write Me A Letter, with an official video set to premiere at 7pm today, 18 September.

Pylon follows 2024’s UK number one album This Is How Tomorrow Moves, but finds Beatrice Laus working through a more unsettled set of emotions. Written in hotel rooms and in the gaps between touring, the record moves through isolation, change, longing and the uneasy business of growing up.

Speaking about the writing process, Laus said: “I had to write these songs on tour or between tours because I had to understand what was going on in my head. It’s this idea of letting go and accepting change. When I was on tour, I was yearning for something, and it made me think: How do I make myself feel comfortable? What does it mean to grow up? I was just missing how things were.”

A restless new chapter

Write Me A Letter is a propulsive indie-rock track produced with Laus’ longtime collaborators Matty Healy and George Daniel of The 1975. Laus describes the song as being about “seeing my fault in situations but also admitting things that I would be too embarrassed to say out loud”.

The album also includes previously released singles Sun Has Set, Switchblade and Memories, alongside contributions from Hayley Williams, Brendan Yates, Evan Stephens Hall, Chino Moreno and Shane Moran.

Laus has said the stripped-back circumstances of the record’s writing took her back to her earliest work: “It reminded me a lot of how I wrote songs at 17, alone in my bedroom, feeling sad as fuck.”

Powerlines brings Beabadoobee to UK arenas

The album release precedes the Powerlines Tour, Laus’ first headline arena tour. Following North American dates including Madison Square Garden and the Kia Forum, the run reaches the UK in November for four major shows, closing at London’s O2 Arena.
