Beyond Extinction Unearth Essex Horror on Three Swords EP and Set Cross-Atlantic UK Tour
Beyond Extinction have released their new four-track concept EP, Three Swords, alongside a video for its focus track Skin Of The Beast.
Out now, the EP turns towards the grim history of the band’s home county, with each song drawing from stories of persecution, disease, violence and death rooted in Essex. Witchfinder explores the human cost of the witch trials, while A Dark Sickness (Three Swords) confronts the devastation left by the Black Plague. Elsewhere, The Estuary follows the darker folklore and real-life tragedies surrounding the county’s waterways.

A violent vision for Skin Of The Beast
The new video for Skin Of The Beast was filmed during the band’s appearance at Bay Days Festival 2026. Its imagery centres on ancient tribes dressed in animal furs and marked by blood, matching the track’s slow, low-slung deathcore weight with an appropriately unsettling visual world.
Vocalist Jasper Harmer said: “We are ecstatic to have Three Swords out in the world and to have stamped an Essex mark onto our discography that pays homage to the place that pushed our band to grow. The rich roots, depth of the people and the terrifying history of our home county has helped us harness the rage and dread of our music and let it carry stories which built the ground we walk on.
“To have congealed terror and fear within some of our most sharpened riff-work yet is something we are very proud of. This EP is, as always, in memory of Zach Scott – and a pointing direction to the foggy history of the county of Three Swords.”

The four tales behind Three Swords
The record follows 2025 debut album Where They Gather, but narrows its focus to four tightly connected stories from the band’s local landscape.
- Witchfinder
- Skin Of The Beast
- The Estuary
- A Dark Sickness (Three Swords)
