Gurriers unveil vulnerable new single Pins ahead of second album release

Gurriers have shared Pins, the fourth single from their forthcoming second album Nobody’s Coming To Save You.

Due for release on 25 September via Play It Again Sam, the album follows recent singles Nothing Happens Twice, Nobody’s Coming To Save You and Party Lines. The latest track finds the Dublin band shifting their usual guitar-heavy charge towards a 90s boom bap-informed rhythm, while keeping its alternative-rock edge intact.

Pins centres on the uneasy space between devotion and self-worth. The song is described as Gurriers at their most vulnerable, tackling the experience of loving somebody completely while struggling to extend the same care to yourself.

A record shaped between Donegal and London

Nobody’s Coming To Save You was recorded at Attica Studios in Donegal and Holy Mountain Studios in London. It was produced by Mark Bowen and Loren Humphrey, with Chris Fullard engineering and John Congleton handling the mix.

The ten-track record includes the title track, Party Lines, Nothing Happens Twice and new single Pins.

Record shops, launch parties and a full autumn run

Before the album arrives, Gurriers will play a run of UK and Ireland outstore shows, stopping at independent retailers including Assai Records, Jacaranda, Rough Trade and Truck Store. Album launch parties will also take place at The Abbey in Manchester on 23 September and Moylett’s in London on 1 October, with the latter presented in partnership with DIY Magazine. Entry is available through a pre-order competition.

The band will then head out on an extensive UK and European headline tour, with Tramhaus supporting across the British dates before Enola Gay join for much of the continental run. The UK leg includes a London show at Electric Brixton on 24 October.
