Hollow Pact target false sympathy on new single Witchking

“Witchking represents that moment when you are watching somebody collect an unwarranted sympathy after they were the cause of another person’s suffering and pain.”

Hollow Pact confront performative victimhood on new single Witchking

Hollow Pact have released their new single Witchking, accompanied by an official music video, through Sumerian Records.

The track follows Tear, the band’s first release since joining the label, and finds Hollow Pact taking aim at the spectacle of undeserved sympathy. Built around a particularly bitter observation, Witchking channels frustration towards those who reshape a damaging situation to cast themselves as the victim.

The band said: “Witchking represents that moment when you are watching somebody collect an unwarranted sympathy after they were the cause of another person’s suffering and pain. Its about the frustration it feels to witness their dishonest feelings on display as they allow themselves to fall into the hands of a story that no one knows the other side of.”

A new video for Witchking

The video arrives alongside the single, giving the song’s tense and accusatory tone a visual counterpart. Watch the video here, or stream Witchking here.

Dates with Royale Lynn and Of Mice & Men

Hollow Pact will take the track onto the road from Saturday 29 August with Royale Lynn. The band will then join Of Mice & Men for further support dates beginning Thursday 19 November.
