Levellers bring Sleeper, Kid Kapichi, Brakes and The Meffs to Brighton for Hove Park homecoming
Levellers have announced the support acts for their hometown open-air show at Hove Park in Brighton, with Sleeper, Kid Kapichi, Brakes and The Meffs all set to join the bill on Saturday 5 September 2026.
The date will mark 35 years of Levelling The Land, the 1991 album that became one of the band’s defining records and turned in a run of songs that still sit at the centre of their setlists, including One Way, 15 Years and Far From Home.

“It’s going to be great to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Levelling The Land in Brighton. It’s a Brighton album, 90% of it was written in Brighton, a lot of the songs are about Brighton and its environs, so we are just made up to be playing in our home town, it’s been good to us, it’s a unique town, so it’s really important to us. Hove Park has an original standing stone in it – The Goldstone – which is good for us because we are hippies!” say Mark Chadwick and Jeremy ‘Jez’ Cunningham.
A Brighton bill with local weight
The support line-up stretches across different corners of British alternative music. Sleeper arrive with a catalogue that helped define Britpop’s commercial peak, while Kid Kapichi come in fresh from their fourth album Fearless Nature and a string of politically charged live dates that have kept them in heavy rotation on the road.

Brakes will make a rare hometown appearance as part of their first live shows together in more than a decade, timed to coincide with the reissue of their debut album Give Blood and a newly unearthed live recording from New York. The Meffs complete the announced bill, adding their fast, clipped punk attack and jaundiced social commentary to the afternoon programme.

Fans can sign up for pre-sale tickets at levellersbrighton.com. Presented by JOY. Concerts, the show will take place at Hove Park on Saturday, 5 September 2026, with doors from 14:00 and additional special guests still to be announced.
Charity backing at the gate
Tickets will also include an optional donation to Sussex Homeless Support, the local charity Levellers have worked with for five years. The band said: “We’ve been working with Sussex Homeless for 5 years. It’s front line work, what they do is hardcore and we are really happy to support that. We’ve all been homeless back in the day, and we just used to squat, but you can’t do that anymore, that’s criminal now, so it’s an issue close to our hearts. Jim who runs it is all over it, we know the money is being used at the pointy end and we are very happy to be part of it.”
