Levellers Announce Hometown Brighton Show
Folk-punk stalwarts Levellers have confirmed a major hometown performance, announcing an open air headline show at Hove Park on Saturday 5th September 2026.
The one-off event marks 35 years of their landmark album Levelling The Land, a record deeply rooted in Brighton’s identity and the band’s own origins.
Celebrating A Brighton-Born Classic
Originally released in 1991, Levelling The Land became a defining statement of its era, going platinum and delivering enduring anthems like One Way, 15 Years and Far From Home. It remains a cornerstone of the band’s legacy and a touchstone for generations of fans.
For Mark Chadwick and Jeremy Cunningham, the Brighton setting is more than symbolic.
“It’s going to be great to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Levelling The Land in Brighton. It’s a Brighton album… so it’s really important to us. Hove Park has an original standing stone in it – The Goldstone – which is good for us because we are hippies!”
A Rare Outdoor Homecoming
Emerging from Brighton in the late 1980s, Levellers carved out a singular path, blending folk, punk and political fire into a sound that has endured for decades. Their live reputation has only grown stronger, with a deep-rooted connection to audiences across the UK and beyond.

Supporting Sussex Homeless
Tickets for the show will include the option to donate to Sussex Homeless, a frontline charity the band has supported for five years.
Reflecting on their involvement, the band highlighted the urgency of the issue and their personal connection, having experienced housing insecurity themselves in earlier years.
