Luvcat brings The Box Soho show to YouTube for Vicious Delicious anniversary

Luvcat will premiere a full concert film from her recent London show at The Box Soho this Halloween, marking one year since the release of her debut album Vicious Delicious.

The film arrives on YouTube at 6pm GMT on Saturday 31 October and will remain available for 48 hours. Captured during the singer’s surprise Soho underplay, the performance finds Luvcat moving through material from Vicious Delicious, the Lovebites EP and unreleased songs including Alchemy and Mademoiselle.

A fever dream in Soho

The concert opens with Luvcat walking through Soho before entering The Box, with the performance framed by deep red lighting, costume changes and cabaret choreography. The set also includes a rendition of Twin Peaks Theme, while red rose petals fall during He’s My Man.

Speaking from the stage, Luvcat recalled a previous visit to the venue: “The last time I was in The Box, it was a fever dream. Delightful and disturbing. I came to as the bright lights were turned on at 6am dancing on a tabletop with the prince of Spain. Or France. It’s all a little blurry…”

Introducing the unreleased Alchemy, she added: “This is a song about when a handsome French sailor whisked me off to Paris for the week. The love story ended in the back of a police car, as all the best love stories do.”

From murder ballads to can-can encores

The show’s closing stretch sees a troupe of can-can dancers join Luvcat for encore performances of Bad Books and Dinner @ Brasserie Zédel. The concert film also features the live debut of Mademoiselle, written only weeks before the show.

The full setlist featured in the film is:

  1. The Kazimier Garden
  2. Lipstick
  3. Matador
  4. Vampire at the Beach
  5. Alchemy
  6. Love & Money
  7. Mademoiselle
  8. Silent Killer
  9. Vicious Delicious
  10. He’s My Man
  11. Twin Peaks interlude
  12. Bad Books
  13. Dinner @ Brasserie Zédel
